About me, Gill Bennett:
Look Who's Walking is a business idea and a dream that I have had for a long time. My love for animals and the outdoors is shared by my partner, James Bennett, Head Veterinary Surgeon at Petcare Chiswick and has drawn us both towards making this idea a reality.
Firstly, a little bit about me. I am originally from Scotland, but spent my childhood traveling the world with my family, before settling in Hong Kong where my parents still live. I went to boarding school in St. Andrews, university in Edinburgh and moved to London in 2007. My love for animals was clear from an early age: I’m told that as soon as I could walk, I would make a beeline for any animal nearby, usually dogs, and always to the dismay of my parents. This passion only grew with age and after a fulfilling a successful career in PR, I finally decided to follow my dream of setting up my own dog walking and animal care business.
James and I live in Stockwell and enjoy London life. We can usually be found walking our dogs Agnes (a Hugarian Vizsla) and Archie (a Whippet) in all the London parks along with our daughter Suki or relaxing at home, reading the papers with our three cats, Puda, Woody and Barclay.
Meghan grew up in the South West countryside around so many animals: she is an experienced horse rider and loves cats.
Having graduated from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2010, Meghan splits her time between performing in shows like War Horse and looking after the doggies at Look Who's Walking, where she has worked since January 2014.
Hannah is the manager of our daycare centre.
Hannah has a degree in Animal Management and completed her dissertation on dog behaviour. As part of her degree she also completed a year long grooming course.
In the past she has volunteered at a petting zoo and a greyhound rescue centre and has been lucky enough to visit South Africa twice with university.
Hannah has grown up with cats, hamsters and rabbits. After years of pleading for a dog her parents finally caved 6 years ago and came home with her Weimaraner, Jasper. She currently has three pet rats.
Hannah moved to London from West Yorkshire in August 2013 to experience something new and now she's not sure her partner and herself will ever want to leave. She splits her free time between exploring London and travelling back up North to see her friends, family and her much missed dog and cat.
Hannah has worked at Look Who's Walking since February 2015
Growing up in Norwich Julie was always around animals and was a keen horse rider as a youngster, so jumped at the chance to work with dogs later in life. Living in London since 2008, Julie knows she doesn’t have the space for her own dog so relishes the chance to create bonds with dogs through her work.
Julie started working and sitting for dogs in 2012 as a way to bring in extra income to pay for her trip to Thailand, where she volunteered at an elephant sanctuary, which she happily continued alongside completing her history degree with the Open University. Since completing her degree in June 2015 she has been able to extend her role with Look Who’s Walking to include day care duties, dog walking, sitting and cat feeding.
Julie is currently studying towards both a Canine Myotherapy Diploma, that will allow her to provide professional qualified massage for dogs, as well as training to become a professional animal healer so has plans to stay working with animals for the long term.
